Antoine Bouillot, 1977, lives and works in Paris

Self-taught and multidisciplinary, Antoine Bouillot starts working at the age of 16 in the Parisian fashion world. After initial work on catwalk scenography, he becomes an artistic director for the luxury, fashion and cosmetic industry. He creates the identities for luxury brands such as Lanvin, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Sampar, Gaspard Yurkievich and Thai Airways.
In 2007, under the name ‘Parallax Corporation’, he decides to have a go at movie directing. His first film ‘computer love’ is a video clip for the Norwegian band Datarock. Rolling Stone magazine then ranks the clip as being among the top 100 video clips ever made.
His career as a visual artist starts in 2008 with a solo show at A.L.I.C.E. He then takes part in various group shows and art fairs.

Art is, for Antoine Bouillot, a tautological provocation with the world of Luxury as an alibi. His work calls for a twofold interpretation: one concerning luxury and the other regarding the artwork itself. As a critical mirror, his work does not take sides; rather, it draws a frame inviting us to take a stand on the subject. To reveal the unexpected complexity of reality, Antoine Bouillot deals with the paradox, a strong stimulus for reflection. His art accuses as much as it celebrates the world of Luxury and of art. This infinite dialectic is the essence of his aesthetic.
